Vasarely is widely regarded as the father of Op-Art.
He is a major master of 20th century art.
His paintings are in the permanent collections
of many important museums around the world.

During the 1960’s and 70’s his optical images became part of the popular culture, having a deep impact on architecture, computer science, fashion, and the way we now look at things in general.  Even though he achieved great fame he insisted on making his art accessible to everyone. His motto was “Art for all”.

Shaun White

When snowboarding debuted at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, the culture clash was painful: Several top riders boycotted the event, citing corruption in the selection of the official federation for the sport.
Snowboarding's first gold medal winner, Canadian Ross Rebagliati, tested positive for marijuana but was allowed to keep his giant slalom medal on a technicality. Bronze medals won by Ross Powers in men's halfpipe and Shannon Dunn on the women's pipe were the USA's only medals in the sport.
Flash forward 12 years and 13 American snowboard medals later to 2010 and the Vancouver Winter Games, where a shaggy-red-haired, garage-band guitarist named Shaun White is arguably the Winter Games' biggest star.

I appreciate talented people with great auras..very inspiring! I like the long orangy hair look 2..lol.

Sauna

If your budget does not allow for a spa vacation, or even a day at the day spa, don`t despair. There just might be some do-it-yourself spa treatments in the basement of your local health club.
The Turks and Romans were the first people to use steam treatments. They provide heat and humidity. It uses wet heat, which makes it a great choice for anyone with dry skin. Studies have shown that regular steaming can decrease stress, rid the body of toxins and increase circulation. Steam rooms can also relieve sore throats by moistening the air. Additionally, the steam room can alleviate congestion of the upper respiratory mucus membranes.  Most steam rooms work on their own cycles. Although many people try to speed up the steam cycle by throwing water on the controls, this is not advisable. Quite often, this can make the room unbearably hot...continue.. Body
Guys, be sure to wear flip flops & towel!

Haiti

The Spaniards used the island of Hispaniola (of which Haiti is the western part and the Dominican Republic the eastern) as a launching point from which to explore the rest of the Western Hemisphere. French buccaneers later used the western third of the island as a point from which to harass English and Spanish ships. In 1697, Spain ceded the western third of Hispaniola to France. As piracy was gradually suppressed, some French adventurers became planters, making Saint Domingue, as the French portion of the island was known, the "pearl of the Antilles"--one of the richest colonies in the 18th century French empire.

During this period, African slaves were brought to work on sugarcane and coffee plantations. In 1791, the slave population revolted--led by Toussaint L'Ouverture, Jean Jacques Dessalines, and Henri Christophe--and gained control of the northern part of the French colony, waging a war of attrition against the French.  continue...historyofnations
