Frankfurt, Germany

Frankfurt, in central Germany, is a 2000-year-old city with much to offer: skyscrapers, the Main River, a famous opera house, thriving theater district, zoo, pedestrian shopping street, parks, and more than 50 museums (art, German, Jewish and natural history and more). The majority of Frankfurt has been built since World War II, when bombings decimated the city. However, some historic structures, such as Romer (city hall), have been restored or rebuilt.

Christian Dior

The House of Christian Dior started in 1947, when Normandy-born designer Christian Dior opened his own company after working with Robert Pigue and Lucien Lelong. And the direction he took his own label changed the direction of mid-century fashion, in particular, with his post World War II "New Look" which elevated Dior to the status of one of the most famous French designers in history. The New Look (a term coined by then Harper's Bazaar Editor-in-Chief Carmel Snow) encompassed voluptuous silhouettes with boned, bustier bodices and skirts that flared out from the waist, finished with a hem that flattered any woman's calves. And it set the world on fire, as the New Look refused to grow old, still finding itself in modern-day fashion. The house continued success even after Dior’s death in 1957, as Yves Saint Laurent took over, and later it changed hands to Marc Bohan to Gianfranco Ferrè. John Galliano took over in 1996, debuting his first collection on the 50th anniversary of the label, and staying there ever since. He's established the look of the "Anything Goes" era with his own extreme makeover of the house. And with his impeccable way of capturing fashion's thematic imagination and quest for fantasy, Galliano's creations make everyone say J'Adore Dior.

LeBron James 4 Vanity Fair

Vanity Fair Article..

LeBron’s Band of Brothers In an excerpt from his new book, the N.B.A.’s biggest star recalls the team that made him: five kids who challenged themselves, one another, and their community, going all the way to the bittersweet final game that would make them National Champions.

I believe that things happen for a reason. I believe it was Karma that connected me to Coach
Dru.

Dru Joyce graduated from Ohio University in 1978. He got a sales job at Hunt-Wesson Foods, in Pittsburgh, and after a few years was promoted to senior sales rep for Cleveland and the eastern suburbs. By all rights Coach Dru and his family should have settled in the Cleveland area. Had he done so, I never would have met him, and without meeting him, who knows what would have happened to me. A district manager at Hunt-Wesson suggested he settle in Akron, which was a little cheaper than Cleveland, and Coach Dru took his advice. He moved there with his family in March of 1984, thinking it was temporary. But there was something about Akron he liked—the size of it, the feel of it, even the smell of it: although Goodyear and Firestone had closed their tire plants in the late 1970s and early 1980s, a few companies were still making rubber products back then, and every afternoon you could catch the sharp aroma. So he stayed, eventually moving to a house on Greenwood Avenue in West Akron. And because he stayed my life changed.

Coconut Oil for Skin

The coconut oil is famous worldwide first as edible oil or cooking oil, then as a hair oil, then as a massaging oil for skin and the body and finally, as a medicine. Here we shall try to know what makes coconut oil for skin a wise choice.

  • Saturated Fats: Predominantly, these are Medium Chain Fatty Acids or Triglycerides. When applied on skin, they keep the skin smooth to touch and also retain the moisture content of the skin, as they check escaping of the moisture through the pores on skin. When ingested, these fats deposit under the skin, thus keeping it healthy.
  • Capric Acid/Caprylic Acid/Lauric Acid: Although they are nothing but the saturated fats I mentioned above and not different from the medium chain fatty acids, still it was important to mention them separately here since they have their own contributions. These three fatty acids have strong disinfectant and anti microbial properties. When applied on skin, it protects skin from microbial infections. This microbial action can be experienced even if coconut oil is taken internally, as they boost up the immunity when converted to monocaprins and monolaurins. Coconut oil, for skin, does the same thing what mother’s milk does for the body.
  • Vitamin-E: The contributions of vitamin-E towards skin are well known. It is essential for a healthy skin growth, repair of wear & tear in the skin, keeping skin smooth and protection against cracking and above all, it prevents ageing and wrinkling of skin, as it has good anti oxidant properties.
  • Proteins: Like coconut, coconut oil is rich in many proteins. These proteins keep skin healthy and rejuvenated, both internally and externally.
  • Stability: Due to its high stability, coconut oil does not go rancid for long. This property can be very beneficial when it is applied on skin externally, since the longer it does not become rancid, the longer any infection due rancidity are avoide.
Guys, Ive been using this & I like it. It feels really nice & light.

The T-shirt that changed my mind about T-shirts might not impress you much at first glance. But that’s because you’re not wearing it. Sure, it’s plain heather gray, and maybe you do have some treasured rag in your drawer that looks a bit similar.

views from Paris' High Line: The Promenade Plantee...

Above, gray and rainy city views from the Promenade Plantée.

The Promenade Plantee is a 4.5 km-long elevated park in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, France. It was constructed on an abandoned 19th-century railway viaduct, which connected the Bastille area to the eastern suburbs of Paris, and ceased operation on December 14, 1969. The parkway runs from the Opera Bastille to the eastern city limits, ending up only a short distance from the Bois de Vincennes.
